ljarchive, available on sourceforge (but just so you know, its not quite that dire. 13/30; not 20/28 were laid off).

Please excuse my butting into your thread but you came up when I googled 'livejournal backup'. I've just backed up my original journal (I think successfully). Do you know how I would go about backing up my comm. I seem to run into difficulty when putting in a username and password?

I'm also opening a support ticket but god knows when I'll get a response to that. Any advice would be much appreciated. Or even if you could point me in the direction of someone else who could help.

Thanks muchly ♥

Thanks anyway. :) I'll just have to continue the hunt.

Sorry for the intrusion. ♥

It's not a backup, but it is a possible substitute if things go "blooey!": I crosspost everything on WordPress. It's free, and there's an open-source downloadable version (with auto crossposting) that works on pretty much any platform as well as the online version. Fewer bells and whistles, and it doesn't have the community and FList structure, but it's stable as hell.
