Denvention schedule redux
Jul. 27th, 2008 08:35 amI sprained my brain this weekend trying to figure out how I could arrange a meetup with an ex who lives in the Denver area. Worldcons are generally busy, but add in having to work scheduled hours for the day job, and wanting to spend time with my sister and niece, and it's even more complicated than usual.
Here's how the schedule looks so far:
Tuesday: Fly to Denver
Meet up with sister. Attend Rockies baseball game.
Wednesday 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM (approx)
Day job - development forecast load
Thursday 2:30 PM
Reading
Thursday 5:30 PM
Torchwood: Doctor Who for Grownups? (Moderator)
Thursday 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Day job - 5WD financials. Technically I should start this at 5:30, but due to programming conflict I'll have to work quickly to get things done before evening batch, or settle in for a long night.
Friday 11:30 AM
Urban Fantasy: Still Room to Grow?
Friday 4:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Day job - 6WD financials
Saturday Daytime
Spend time with my sister and niece
Saturday 4:00 PM
Would you care for a little SF in that? Blurring Genre Lines (Moderator)
Sunday: Fly home to Binghamton

I'm pleased with the schedule-- enough events so I feel like an active contributor to the con, while still allowing plenty of time to attend interesting program items and meet up with friends. And my sister is planning on coming for at least one day of the con, to see what it's all about, so I'll be showing her around.

Fly and be free!
May. 19th, 2008 11:28 amI have plane tickets for Denvention. This makes it significantly more real.
Flying out a day early so I can spend time with my sister before the convention starts. Tickets weren't cheap, but the only other option was driving up to Syracuse and flying through O'Hare. And honestly, it's worth it to spend the extra bucks to skip O'Hare.
