There was a scene I meant to write from the POV of the character who is going to be killed off. Somehow that scene didn't get written. Not sure yet if this is because I don't really need that scene since the information has been conveyed elsewhere, or if I am just ducking this because I'm having difficulties working with this character.

I'm at that difficult stage where the book is over halfway written, but I'm not close enough to the end to see the light at the end of the tunnel. If I were biking I'd say this is the early afternoon, the time after lunch when you begin to bonk. Your legs are sore, your butt hurts, and you can't quite remember why you thought cycling 50+ miles a day would be a good time. Luckily writing is much like biking. Experience has taught me that with both you merely have to press through. Then, as you near the end of your day (or your book), your spirits will rise as you can see the goal in sight, and suddenly the whole journey will be worth it. When you're finished you'll remember all the good parts, and forget about the aches, pains, and sheer misery of bad weather and rotten roads.

In the meantime, it's time for Gatorade.
