Productive!
Mar. 12th, 2005 08:44 pmWrote in the morning, then dragged a friend out to lunch at one of my favorite spots. Refused to accept "I have to pay bills" and "My hair doesn't look right" as excuses. I mean, do guys have bad hair days? And how could anyone who knows me think I would accept this as an excuse? My left leg has just been amputated, well yeah, I'd buy that one. But a bad hair day???
Then went to home show and looked at ways I can turn foreign rights check into home improvements. If this was a car, I'd just sell it and buy a new one. But buying a new house means packing all my stuff (i.e. books) so I think it's going to be upgrades rather than house hunting.
Came back and managed second round of writing for a very productive day.
Writing: 2,684 words today. My hero is desperately clinging to the belief that nothing is wrong, metaphorically hanging on with his fingernails in the hopes that he can find a rational explanation for the weirdness in his life. Next time we see him, I'm pulling away those finger holds :-)
Listening: Sidewaulk by Capercaille
Reading: Crystal Soldier by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller. Barnes & Noble delivered yesterday (yay!). Been trying to be good and not skimp on writing time, which means that I'm only about halfway through so far.
LJ: Interesting discussion over in
aireon's LJ about the writing process, and working from strict outlines versus allowing yourself to discover the story as you write.
