Writing Progress: 2,423 words today. I'd hoped to do three scenes but only managed two before the brain fried.
Seeing as the brain was fried, I then spent a couple of hours organizing financial records and getting ready to do taxes. Fun, fun.
Today's writing thought involves the scene I just wrote from the POV of a character that I intend to kill off later. I'm wondering how this knowledge changes the way I portray this character. In the past I've killed off non-viewpoint characters, and when I did kill a viewpoint character it was a decision that I reached after I'd used him as a viewpoint character in prior books, so his character was already firmly established.
I don't think my foreknowledge is influencing how I write this character, and yet, how can it not? Am I leaving subtle clues that a reader will pick up on, and realize that this character is ultimately doomed?
Or am I overthinking this entirely because it's been a long day?
Anyway, a decent writing day, and a good end to the weekend. Back to the salt mines tomorrow!
