A writer's mind is always scheming

My oldest niece has begun emailing me. When asked why my emails were written so early, I explained that the birds wake me up in the mornings. She felt that not getting to sleep in was a tragedy, so I shared with her my plan to make tiny sleep masks for all the birds so that they could sleep through the sunrise and thus so could I. I admitted that there were still a few details of the plan to be worked out, but I thought I was on the right track.

She declared that I was crazy, but in an awesome way. Which is really the best kind of aunt to be.

Where do the giant robots fit into your plan?

Giant robots would, of course, solve the problem. They are incredibly useful in that way. But I'm still having discussions with the homeowners association on exactly how many giant robots I can have on the property, so until those details are worked out I'm forced to come up with alternate solutions.
