To poke my houseguest with a stick and wake him up? It's 8AM, so surely even the biggest of sluggards should be awake and about his business?

And yes, there's a part of me that can't help wondering how the woman who used to sleep till noon every chance she got has been transformed into someone who thinks 6AM is a perfectly reasonable time to start her day. But there's a larger part that's plotting how I can "accidentally" make enough noise to inspire my guest to arise and shine.

I guess sleeping in depends upon your point of reference. I sleep in on Saturday and Sunday mornings, but like you I'm usually up around 6AM. (I'm up before 3AM during the work week.) My daughter sleeps in on the weekend and we don't see her until the mid afternoon. By now the parrot has learned to say, "Jessica, wake up!" as the day goes along.
