Making it feel like home
Dec. 6th, 2011 06:53 pmMuch excitement here today as the furniture I'd ordered has finally arrived. Sectional sofa, ottomans, dining set and my new desk, all the key elements of civilization. Now that everything's here and in place, I can finish unpacking and moving in.
The new place looks different now that there's furniture.
Civilized dining at last. Space for six to dine or play games.
Plenty of space for friends to hang out. The ottomans double as storage, and if you flip the tops they become a tray, ready for drinks and snacks. Just what we needed for all those writers nights in Binghamton.
Now that the desk is here, I can set up the walk-in closet in the guest room as a home office. The closet is 65 inches wide (the desk is bigger than it appears) and an astonishing eleven feet long. Plenty of room for my workspace, files, a printing station, and maybe even a bit left over so guests can hang their clothes. Or not :-)
