I have a landline phone and live in an area that is known for its conservative politcal views. Which means that at least once a day I get a robo-telephone survey asking me for my views on gay marriage, from an organization known for cherry-picking their pool of respondents so they can report the views of the "average New Yorker."

It's the only survey I ever respond to. The writers group last night got to hear me answer the survey in which I enthusiastically disagreed with the statement that the marriage can only be between one man and one woman.

Then, after I was sure that my answer had been recorded, I expressed my contempt for the useless weasels, a la Senator Roy McDonald.

Please, New York, I know our state government is dysfunctional at the best of times, but for once do the right thing and pass the same-sex marriage act.

We are bad citizens. We hang up on "poll" calls. Even ones with humans rather than robots on the other end.

Every other time I've gotten poll calls from humans or robots, I hang up. But this one I'm answering.

Only having a cell phone, they don't call me. But I'd so give them a piece of my mind... (I've already done so via Twitter & LJ).

We have a landline, and we haven't gotten any of those calls. I wonder if it was any of my previous answers that have gotten me taken off those lists. The ones that have grouped me in the category of "crazy left winger that believes in civil rights for all" instead of "majority of NYers how we like to define them."

I am never home when the marriage people call! We get like three messages a day and I am SO SAD because I want to disagree with them! I find it unfair that they don't interrupt my dinner like everyone else. :) Kevin also wants them to call when we're home because he really wants to hear my answers.

I feel like I ought to be home in Albany and standing out there with other folks making noise for same-sex marriage to be approved. NY needs to get with the program!
