Was flipping through the ACORN catalog last night, and there, nestled among their offerings of the best DVDs from BBC and PBS I saw FARSCAPE: THE COMPLETE SERIES. There were no other sci-fi offerings, no Doctor Who, Torchwood, Firefly, etc. Just Farscape.

If they had to pick just one they have excellent taste.

IMO Farscape is the single best televised sci-fi series. Ever. It's completely character driven, and the characters change and evolve throughout the series. It's been off the air for years now and I still miss.

As a public service announcement, the complete box set is available for a ridiculously low price-- about 60 bucks at Amazon or BN.COM for all 4 seasons, then another 10 bucks for the Peacekeeper Wars movie.

It's a great show. It makes you have fun while you think. Or vice versa.

I bought this last spring as my own mother's day present. Then I indulged (became obsessed) and watched all 4 seasons plus "The Peacekeeper War" in about 6 weeks. Then I wanted to go back to the beginning again. But so far I have resisted so that when I do indulge again some things will feel bright and shiny new again, and others will be old friends to be cherished.

I originally owned the series on VHS and then when the DVD sets first came out I bought them. But those were individual box sets for each season, plus Peacekeeper Wars, and now I kind of want to get the new all-in-one box set.

Like you, I've limited my indulgences in rewatching, but a few years ago when I was invited to contribute an essay to FARSCAPE FOREVER: SEX, DRUGS AND KILLER MUPPETS it gave me the perfect an excuse to watch the series from beginning to end.

There is no arguing with that. Farscape is fine.

I absolutely 100 percent concur! Farscape is my favorite show ever and whenever my life gets difficult, I turn to it as my comfort viewing.

:-) Sentiment counts, whichever account you post it from.

In one of those happy accidents of fate, I discovered Farscape at the same time my father had a life-changing stroke, and it was a lovely diversion. I used to watch it and say "Well no matter how bad my day has been, I know Crichton's has been worse."
