Spent Thanksgiving with friends who prepared an incredibly awesome meal--all the favorites, perfectly done. I easily put away more food than anyone else (Thanksgiving dinner is my very favorite meal.)

Then Friday we sensibly skipped the shopping madness and instead headed over to the newly opened Dinosaur BBQ in Troy, where we spent a few hours at the bar drinking and feasting. Seriously excellent BBQ.

Friday night, my friends insisted that we watch Bottle Shock which I'd somehow missed--a fun film that went perfectly as we worked our way through various bottles of red, and generous helpings of Thanksgiving leftovers.

Today I returned home. Going to have to be very good for a few days to make up for the indulgence, but it was worth it.

Dinosaur BBQ is a genuine southern style BBQ place, which is a rarity up here in the North. On weekends, people stand in line for hours to get into their original place in Syracuse. They've got one in Harlem, and I think their third is in Rochester. The one in Troy is their fourth restaurant, and the food was everything I've come to expect. Clever souls that we are, we arrived at 11:30 AM on Friday and easily found prime spots at the bar, but soon thereafter it was standing room only and a wait for tables.
