Pet sitting 2012 style-- owners receive text updates and photos via smartphones, showing that Mister Dempsey is adapting perfectly fine to having a spare human to cater to his every whim.

Next step, find a bigger keyboard and teach Dempsey to twitter.

I had on my agenda teaching Dempsey how to open the magic closet where the greenie treats were kept, but then realized this would probably result in my being banished to sleep in the yard on future visits.

Nothing will ever beat the time I taught my brother's dog "human fetch" where the dog stays still and throws the ball, and the human retrieves it. It was his favorite game, and my name was a curse word in that house for a long time :-)
