Cake or death? Gym or shopping?

The storm is hitting us as rain, not snow, so I've no excuse to huddle inside my warm house. "Good for you pain" seems to be on tap this morning, so coward that I am I'm choosing the gym over finishing my Christmas shopping.

Here in the Inland Northwest, our precipitation is also being felt as rain. Personally, I think it seems colder and nastier if it's 36 degrees and raining (or wetly snowing) than if it's 26 and snowing real snow! At least one doesn't get soaked!

I prefer snow to sleet & freezing rain, but when it comes to driving around town, plain old rain in the 40s beats snow any day.

Almost done shopping for the stuff that needs to get in the mail, so I feel quite triumphant. Tonight should see the end of it.

Well, I like the gym more than I like crowded shopping centers, so it did feel like the easy way out. But after the gym I did go out shopping after all, so there was plenty of pain to spread around.

That sounds like a smarter idea than what I did, which was to shlep around running errands in the pouring rain all afternoon (with 8-year-old in tow) and *then* come home and run on the treadmill and do yoga :P
