Fill in the blanks time. While Patricia is convalescing at home...
[Poll #1599092]

Yes the TBR stack is in the hundreds, but there's always room for more, plus I need to know which ones to fast track to the top. And for those hours that I'm not reading or writing I need to fill them somehow.

follow the nancy pearl rule of reading: read until the page number matches your age (or 30, whatever comes first). If you like it, continue. If not, stop and find something else to read.

There's this book in my TBR pile called The First Betrayal that I've heard is really good. ;-)

I don't know you IRL, so I didn't suggest a book or hobby, but "Coffee Prince" is gender bending fun, with startlingly feminist follow-through and I think everyone should watch it because it was just that entertaining.

Also, if you haven't read them yet, the Dragonriders of Pern books by Anne McCaffrey (the Harper Hall trilogy are my favorite, although I do like Dragonsdawn as well) are good reads. Of course, that's if your taste runs into that kind of thing.

Hope your ankle is getting better!

Seconding Dave. My personal reccs would be anything by Deanna Raybourn and Elizabeth Peters, but I'm warped that way. Happy reading!

How long will the card trick take? Well, 6 months ... with 4-5 hours a day to practice ... but if you have longer per day, you can shorten that. ;-)

I'm a believer in uncomplicated entertainment when convalesing, so read paperback mysteries, watch campy movies and crochet a nice blanket for this winter.

Any Hong Kong movie directed by Tsui Hark; the Indian films Rangeela and Rang de Basanti. And, in books, if you haven't already read it, Peter Sawyer, Age of the Vikings, 2nd edition. Old now, but still a wonderful piece of analytic mediaeval history.
