Writer friends are the best

While I am recovering from the great ankle sprain of 2010 friends have offered to run errands and entertain me. Long distance friend jennifer_dunne instead offered suggestions for the TBR stack calling to say "Have you read Mouse and Dragon* yet? You should, I just finished it and it's great!"

She then rattled off a few more titles to while away the time while trapped on the couch and finished with an offer of online gaming.

*MOUSE AND DRAGON is the latest Liaden title from Sharon Lee rolanni and Steve Miller kinzel.

Edited on Thursday to add: And UPS just dropped off a copy of MOUSE AND DRAGON along with a Gund bear with a cast on his left foot! Thanks, Jennifer!

*is jealous of your writer friends* The vast majority of my local friends think it's an accomplishment to get through an issue of People magazine, let alone read a short story in a book. Heck, most of them choke over the fact that I read novels FOR FUN and am currently in the process of writing one (well, 3 but I think if I told them that their brains would explode). Wish I could say I was joking but with my work schedule I don't get to see the other hopeful writers that get together twice a month in my area.

I hope your ankle is feeling a little better these days, and I second the motion for "Mouse and Dragon". It's actually the first one I read out of the Liaden series. It was loaned to me by my supervisor, who said since I always seemed to have a book in my hand he thought I'd like it. Now I have to go hunt down the rest of the books so I actually know the whole situation with this world. :D

You must go hunt down the series, it is awesome. (As a devoted fan and fellow author I had the honor of being asked to blurb PLAN B when it was first released.)

If there are no local writers groups that you can attend, online writing groups can be the next best thing. I know several writers who are members of OWW (http://sff.onlinewritingworkshop.com/), which you may want to check out.
