Every cloud is lined with books

pbrayThe old saying is that there is a silver lining in every cloud, and in my case, that lining is made of books.
To wit, while my recent injury has meant less time being active, I've spent those hours reading for pleasure, something that I rarely have a chance to do in my normal schedule.
In a similar vein, the abrupt demise of my television (the sole television in the house) was annoying. Realizing that the new TVs won't fit into my old entertainment center meant that I was looking at not only buying a TV, but having to buy furniture and rearrange the living room.
And then it struck me. The old entertainment center was a monster, with the TV on one side, and stereo components on the other. I no longer need anything that big, so if I replace it with a smaller unit, I can flank the new entertainment center with two bookcases.
BOOKS! BOOKS! HOMES FOR BOOKS! This would double the number of bookcases in the living room. Only another bibliophile will understand how happy this makes me.
For now the new TV is living on an end table placed in front of the old unit. With my limited mobility, I'm not up for furniture shopping, nor for packing up and rearranging the living room. But as soon as I am, there's shopping in my future. And a furniture assembly party at Patricia's place. And inveigling librarian-in-training April to help with the book shelving, which will be done in conjunction with the postponed cull.
In conclusion, books for the win! I need another cup of coffee and then more drooling over furniture websites.
