Please, if you are a registered voter in the US, make sure you vote in this election. Many of you have already done so, thanks to the magic of early voting, and for that you have my thanks.
For the rest of us, it's time to stand up and be counted. Every vote matters, take nothing for granted. I'll be voting on everything from the race for president to the vital question of how local libraries are funded.
Polls here open at 6AM tomorrow, so I'll be voting before heading into work.

At least I won't have to watch the returns alone this year. I did the last two. Can you imagine how depressing....?

Date: 2008-11-04 03:16 pm (UTC)I was just in the Ancestral Homeland (Middlesex County, CT) this weekend -- for a funeral, unfortunately -- and my cousins are all very political people, so there was much discussion of the election. Very useful for distracting everybody from the whole funeral deal. Little by little, I think I'm starting to understand how American elections work ... but gosh, it's complicated.

I didn't disagree with her. And that was waaaay before 2000.
