Preliminary Balticon schedule

I have my preliminary Balticon schedule. I keep forgetting how close it is, since Memorial Day weekend is early this year, but it's only 9 days away (yikes!)

Friday 8PM -- Opening Reception (assuming I don't run into too many traffic jams)

Saturday 11AM -- Autograph table (I can haz lizards! U can 2!)

Saturday 3PM -- Chat with the Crooks (ask us anything, we may even answer)

Saturday 4PM -- Real Women Warriors: Tell us about characters that look, sound and feel realistic - and real women who are warriors

Monday 11AM -- Readers: You've Read the First Novel. What determines whether you want to read more by this author?

The Monday panel is a great topic, but the time is problematic given how many people will be ready to hit the road, so we'll see how it goes. Looking forward to the usual fun time at Balticon, plus traveling companion jpsorrow can't wait to get back to his favorite Italian restaurant (Carrabba's, at the mall just down the road).

Running behind and a wee bit confused -- I pinged them and got back a schedule that, um, didn't really match to my interests or abilities. I am puzzled, but game....

[hey, you are aware that it's also opening weekend for Indy #4? Might there happen to be a movie theater within trooping distance of the hotel? Inquiring fangrrrls might need to know. *grin*]

There's a Regal 12plex theater 2 miles from hotel (on other side of the Hunt Valley Mall). This could be something that needs to happen.

I can haz Indy4? Me and some other blokes are going to hit up the Indy 4 movie (I'm going to drag Tee Morris along if I have to tie him up and put him in a trunk) sometime during the con. Look for a very tall man in a brown Indy Fedora, and then we can commisserate on interview time. I'll bring at least five books for you to sign!

Sounds like a plan. I know jpsorrow is booked Friday and Saturday nights, so we were thinking of a Sunday Indy run. Still waiting for a grid to confirm what's happening.

Well there was the year that they didn't appoint moderators and all the panelists had to go on was panel titles (no descriptions were printed in the pocket program.) That led to some interesting results.

After. That said, I go to Balticon for the people, and to catch up with friends. Some years they're more organized than others, but we'll just go with the flow, and if there's downtime, I'm sure we'll all have fun hanging out in the bar instead.

Hmm... that idea has merit. Sadly the timeframe for acquiring such accoutrements far exceeds that for Balticon departure.
