The synopsis poll will run through Thursday, so click here to cast your vote if you haven't already. DEVLIN'S LUCK and THE FIRST BETRAYAL were nearly tied when I checked earlier.

And for this weekend, here's where I'll be at Lunacon. If you're going to be there, please say "Hi!"

SATURDAY, MARCH 15TH

9:00 AM - 9:30 AM 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Title: The Secret Handshake
Description: Panelists reveal the long hidden conspiracies that propel some to the top of the best-seller lists, while other equally worthy authors linger on the slushpile, forever rejected because they lack the secret knowledge. There is no Track 51. Move along.
Participants: Patricia Bray, Paul Calhoun, Patrick Thomas.
Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] slrose for alerting me to the time change.

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Title: Evolution of the Hero
Description: How does the hero in a fantasy novel differ from his science fiction counterpart? How has she changed over the years? Where did that rascal, the anti-hero come from, and why the hell is he so popular? It's true that "raw" and "edgy" are in demand, but does that mean heroes should have lax moral codes? What does her evolution say about our society?
Participants: Danielle Ackley-McPhail, Patricia Bray, Pauline Griffin, Darrell Schweitzer[M].

12:00 PM (Noon) - 12:30 PM
Reading by Patricia Bray
Description: Reading from THE FINAL SACRIFICE. Plus lizards.

1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Title: When Fandom and Livejournal Collide
Description: Livejournal had a pretty big year, but we don't necessarily mean that in a positive way. Permanent accounts went on sale for the first time since 2005. Brad left LJ for good in August, about four months prior to Six Apart's sale to the Russian company SUP. And, perhaps most memorably, fandom was outraged by the Great Strikethrough of 2007 in May, and then again by Strikethrough 2: Electric Boogaloo in August. Come discuss your reaction to the events of the past year.
Participants: Patricia Bray[M], Jennifer Heddle, Joshua Palmatier.

SUNDAY, MARCH 16TH

10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Title: I've Written a Book. Now What?
Description: What happens when you sell your book to a publisher? An author, editor, art director, and a contracts professional give an overview of the entire process, start to finish. A must-see for anyone planning on publishing a novel.
Participants: Patricia Bray, Jeanne Cavelos, Sean P. Fodera, Irene Gallo[M].

As always, schedule subject to change, so check your programs when you arrive.

I'm much amused by that first panel description. :-)

Hee! There's a whole series of "secret track 51" panels going on this weekend--should be a riot.

If I am awake I will try to make the first panel. Obviously you are trying to keep it a secret by having the panel at the crack of dawn. ^_^

Cool! And if I'm awake I'll be witty. If not, I'll be a zombie and demonstrate that the key to success is snacking on your competitors' brains...

Actually, the grid has that panel listed at 3:00 pm. A far more sensible time, as nothing normally starts before 10:00 am...

Hmm, guess I need to toddle over and check the programming grid again.

Yes, the time had moved since my earlier note from them. Thanks for the heads-up!
