Yesterday's booksigning was a success, largely due to co-conspirators [livejournal.com profile] jpsorrow and [livejournal.com profile] jennifer_dunne and our gracious hosts at Waldenbooks including [livejournal.com profile] fireun and [livejournal.com profile] libwitch. A picture of the event can be found here on fireun's lj. We sold books, made new friends, and in general had a blast hanging out at the store.

As you may guess from my icon, I now have cover art in hand for THE FINAL SACRIFICE.

Another great cover by Steve Stone.

Cover art for The Final Sacrifice by Patricia Bray Don't you love the "my lion totally rules this planet statue?"

The scans don't do justice to the amazing details--in the cover flats you can see the lizard on the lizard crown, among other cool touches.

Alas that's the end of fun for this weekend--the year-end finance close continues apace, which means I have to log on and run database jobs this afternoon. Still it was great while it lasted.

Thanks! Steve Stone does a great job of imagining the world from the meager details that I provided.

Is that Ysobel in the center?

On the spine of the book? It's quite possibly intended to be her, but if so, the artist completely missed the physical description I'd given for Ysobel. In truth it looks very similar to my critique partner [livejournal.com profile] jennifer_dunne.

The kneeling figure inspired a spirited debate over whether it was male or female. The votes were 4 for female and 2 for male (including my vote), and thus male won, since as the author my vote counts at least thrice.

But these are mere picayune details. The important fact is that the cover is absolutely gorgeous and eye-catching.

Heh. I meant the kneeling figure, whose gender I, too was unsure of, but was going with "female" tentatively. The woman on the spine does look like Jennifer.
