Thanks! I'm hoping this means that we'll draw a crowd that outnumbers the authors present....

You looked so COOL, up there on television, like you do this every day, you know, just regularly...

Very nice, guys. Hope the signing goes great for y'all.

Thanks! I've done a few television bits before, but it's been a long time since the last one, and I was merely hoping that I wouldn't freeze up.

Hurrah for the Upstate Three! And I saw no deer in the headlights, only a lot of really weird camera tracking where every time they mentioned one of you, or one of your series, they'd pan to a totally different book.

You all looked great!

Thanks! I'll trust your judgment on this-- I still can't watch it without having flashbacks to home movies.

It's a really interesting experience to be interviewed live in a mall--that extra touch of chaos to keep us all off balance.

Good job. You were made for TV! And I had to laugh... you had lizard earrings. Classic!

I'm glad they were visible--a Christmas present specially for the January booksignings.

We're neighbors!

WHAT?! WHAT?! Newchannel 34? You live where?
Johnson City.... Oakdale Mall!!
I'm only about 40 miles away from there!
Hm. I wonder if I can talk my daughter into heading to Oakdale Mall today instead of Arnot as we'd planned???

Sadly, my clunker of a computer will not let me view the video so I'll have to do that when I get back to work on Monday morning. Nice! Congrats! And I hope you sell gobs of books!

V.

Hee, yes we're neighbors! All three of us live near Binghamton, and hang out together on a regular basis. [livejournal.com profile] jennifer_dunne and I actually met [livejournal.com profile] jpsorrow when he was working at Waldenbooks at the Oakdale mall, and the rest, as they say, is history.

It would be extremely cool if you could make it today. If not, we'll be sure to let you know the next time we're out causing mischief in the area.

LOL - If I make it, should I bring one of my BDSM-based erotica novels for you? Just kidding. That would just be tacky!

Yes, I must convince my daughter we HAVE to go to Oakdale today. She might just go for it. I was just in Owego yesterday and actually need to head over to Berkshire to drop off something for a friend there. (I grew up in Berkshire and my parents still live there.)

We'll be at the bookstore from 1PM till at least 3PM, probably later, depending on how the crowds go. If you do come, bring the novel so we can admire it.

[livejournal.com profile] jennifer_dunne is signing her fantasy novels today, but she also writes for Ellora's Cave. Though I must say I can't critique her erotica--something about knowing her (and her parents) makes it impossible to get the necessary distance to provide feedback. Things I enjoy when written by a stranger are somehow entirely different when they're written by a close friend.

Okay. You asked for it. The covers are a bit racy for public display so we'll have to be discreet, plus the fact I'll have both of my under-age children with me. I'll have to let them run wild in the Mall for a bit so I can slip into the bookstore. Nothing bores them more than bookstores, well, other than maybe going to Civil War reenactments. Kids today!

Yes, very cool. We'll have to do it again sometime when I don't have 3 teenagers in tow and other misc. places to be and things to do going on. I really need more of a social life.

If you feel the urge to read some very naughty 19th century BDSM, let me know. I sign books too, just not out in such public places.

Yay for local TV :)

That was great -- now I know what everyone sounds like! And you all looked very nice (although very, very small on the two-by-two-inch streaming video dealie). The lizard earrings were a very nice touch. :)

Looking forward! :)

BTW, I saw The Sea Change at the library today -- finally discovered where in the huge central library that is now our local they keep the SF&F paperbacks, and there it was! I hope today's signing went well :)

Signing went very well, thanks. It's always better when you can hang out with friends, and the bookstore staff couldn't have been nicer.
