Transformers totally rocks!

(You see, they're like these trucks! Only they're really robots! And they fight evil! Oh, and one of them is this really cool car, with like stripes!)

[livejournal.com profile] jennifer_dunne, [livejournal.com profile] jpsorrow and I went to see it, and most likely annoyed all those around us. Well, actually that was mainly me. I can say in all honesty that this film completely met my expectations.

Super awesome. The only thing that could have improved the experience was me on a sugar high--so after the film we went to Coldstone Creamery. There, after a giant serving of ice cream, I kept trying to transform myself into a truck.

No success so far, but I'm hopeful.

For an unbiased opinion on the movie, skip the critics and go straight to Cherie Priest's capsule review.

I know I am, LOL.

Taking my kids back on Saturday and then on Monday I'm going to a special showing that has a Q&A with the screenwriters afterwards.

I got to see it on the 2nd. Been on a virtual AWESOMENESS high the whole time. Cherie Priest got it dead to rights there. :) Even better yet-- badass heroine who knew her stuff! Mmmm, awesomesauce with extra awesome.

Yeah, she totally rocked. She could hotwire a tow truck, AND hook up an injured transformer, how monster cool was that?!

Sounds like they're more than meets the eye.

*ba-dum-bump*

I've heard nothing but good about that movie and am anxiously awaiting my chance to go see it. Probably not until weekend after next, but somehow I get the impression that it will still be in the theaters.

Yes, I have the feeling that this will be *the* summer film. It will definitely still be there.

And, even for someone who knew nothing about the transformers, doesn't particularly like cars/trucks/other-motorized-vehicles, and hates fight scenes that move so fast you get dizzy... it was a surprisingly good movie. They did a really good job of making it widely accessible.

Kinda wierd that I played with this film's licensed merchandise 20 years before it came out...
