Custom M&M's: Arrived yesterday. Purple and silver mix, printed with either THE SEA CHANGE or PATRICIA BRAY. Bless my parents for giving me first and last names that fit into the 8 character limit.

Postcards: With help of art-minion, created postcard for TSC, which has been ordered and will arrive next week. Took advantage of special deal to reorder postcards for TFB, so I'll have some of those as well.

Lizards: Ordered metallic stretchy lizards and glow in the dark lizards as giveaways. Metallic stretchy lizards are the same ones I gave away last year, while the Glow in the Dark ones are an experiment. If I like them, I'll order more.

Must look into custom M&Ms for the Wiscon reading. My name would fit, as would ENDGAME.

Definitely! I'll be bringing mine. They're a tad pricey but very pretty.

I just checked out the site--very neat! I would likely go with gold and light blue since those are the shades closest to the cover. No browns, unfortunately. Maybe they figure they're too blah.

The ink they use is black. So they try to stick with colors that make black ink legible. They used to have a much wider selection (all of the colors you can choose for the custom M&M mixes) and now they seem to have cut back to just the pastel shades.

Black will definitely show up against the gold and blue.

They vary the colors on the site depending on season. I suspect right now they have Easter-ish colors up, so if you wait till after Easter to order you'll have different choices.

I drove you around and entertained you for three hours while your tires were being replaced? Wasn't that the trade?

Oh, and yes I worship your art skills and shower you with virtual chocolate.

One- and two-word book titles are so popular because they fit on custom M&M's!!!!!

::furrows brow in effort to pick new titles for as-yet-unwritten volumes 2 and 3::

'Cause we're writers and it's all about the chocolate.

Yes. Yes, it is.

(Copy editors and other publishing people are all about the chocolate, too. My department's very, very favourite client -- despite the fact that we make no money on this journal because it gets around to publishing something maybe 1.5 times a year -- is the journal editor who sends us the huge big box of Bernard Callebaut chocolates every time we get an issue out.)

It really is. Some days, chocolate is the only thing that keeps us going.
