Most people have anxiety dreams about showing up naked in high school. Sci-fi writers have anxiety dreams about showing up to a con unprepared (while near-nakedness might not raise eyebrows at a con, wandering around without a badge trying to convince people that yes, you are in fact AuthorName would.)

And on that topic, I'll be attending Lunacon in March in conjunction with the launch of AFTER HOURS: TALES FROM THE UR-BAR. jpsorrow and I are hoping to have a launch party, stay tuned for details.

Two other bits of news--

  • The first review of the AFTER HOURS anthology is available here or on Goodreads.

  • Check out the new AFTER HOURS website where you can find the latest news and schedule of signings and readings.

A good day

Today turned out to be a day of good news, for which I offer my thanks to the friend who bitchslapped 2011 and demanded that the New Year live up to its implied promise.

First, I heard from Madame l'Agent that the new proposal passed muster, so it's been sent on its way. ("Good-bye! Good luck! Call when you find work!")

And then I came home to an unexpected royalty check. Yes, the German language edition of the Bewitching Kittens anthology is indeed the gift that keeps on giving. Because, of course, an anthology of Halloween-themed stories set in Regency England is naturally what you expect to be a perennial seller in Germany. Based on my quick math it's still selling thousands of copies a year. As I've said before, never underestimate the power of a cute kitten on the cover.
