There was much rejoicing at the doctor's office today. The cast came off, and I've graduated to wrappings I can put on and take off myself, meaning that normal showers are now possible. I start physical therapy on Monday, and if everything goes well, the bike trip in mid-September is possible, even if I won't be able to train for it ahead of time. I'm still on restricted activity with limited standing or walking, but it's definitely progress.

One of the side effects of being cooped up at home has been an increase in reading time. Instead of weeks per book, I've actually managed books per week. Books read during the great foot incident of 2010 include:

THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET'S NEST by Stieg Larrson
MOUSE AND DRAGON by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller
DEMON HUNTS by C.E Murphy
HELLFIRE by Anne Aguirre
FLEDGLING by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller
SALTATION by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller
THE DEMON'S COVENANT by Sarah Rees Brennan
DUAINFEY by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller

The only raincloud in my day was the TV deciding to die. Since I only own one TV, this means a rapid replacement will be required. The main criteria is finding one that fits in the entertainment center, which will be tricky since the entertainment center was invented when TV's were squareish rather than widescreen. But I'm not up for the challenge of rearranging my living room and buying new furniture, so whatever fits will have to do.
