Monday is made of fail
Apr. 13th, 2009 08:09 amWell it appears sigh of relief on the Amazon issue was a bit soon-- rankings for some authors have yet to be restored, the talented Nicola Griffith among them (thanks
difrancis for letting me know.)
Sigh.
Also last night, as I was about to log off and head to bed, my PC was hit by a virus/worm/malevolent piece of software written by someone who better get the hell out of the gene pool before I find them and surgically remove all of their fingers. Norton warned me that it had spotted it and was taking action, but apparently not fast enough since it screwed up a bunch of files and it disabled Norton as Norton was trying to disable it. Managed to get the PC booted in safe mode and ran a scan using my emergency CD. Still need to reinstall Norton which will be a project for tonight.
Sigh again.
And later this morning I have a followup appt with my doctor-- "Hey, it's been two weeks since I dropped the crockpot liner on my hand and I know you guys said the xrays showed it wasn't broken but there are still places on that hand that I can't bear to touch and if you lightly touch a certain spot my fingers do this weird involuntary movement. Should I be concerned?"
Yeah, even without looking at the calendar I'm pretty sure I would have known this was a Monday.
ETA: Verdict is bruised nerve(s). Healing time 6-10 weeks, but good news is that there's no restrictions on activities- I can keep typing away, etc. Phew!
