Weekend wrapup

After the trauma that was shopping for a bridesmaid's dress earlier in the week, on Saturday I treated myself by test driving new cars. I may or may not be in the market for a new car, this was a chance to see what was out there and do some thinking on the subject.

I liked one of the cars better than the other, but preferred the other dealership, so there's something else to toss into the pot. Living where I do, there's usually only one dealership for each manufacturer, so if you don't like the dealership your choices are driving an hour to buy the car somewhere else, or settling for a different brand.

On Sunday I went to see the movie Watchmen. I haven't read the graphic novel, so I know I was missing a lot that fans would have enjoyed. Overall I'd rank it as good but not great, though Big Blue was pretty damn impressive :-)

The Sci Fi Channel is relaunching itself on air and online on July 7 with a new name: Syfy.

Network President Mr. Howe said changing the name to Syfy will make a difference. “It gives us a unique word and it gives us the opportunities to imbue it with the values and the perception that we want it to have,” he said.
