On the sixth day of flooding

The river is supposed to drop below flood stage sometime later today. No word on when the boil water order will be lifted for my town. Fortunately there are nearby towns with clean water, including most of my favorite hangouts, so I can conserve on both cooking and dishes.

Still settling in to the post flood routine. Hardest part is remembering to let the water boil before making coffee in the morning. Once I'm caffeinated, the routine is easier.

Writing: finishing the story by sticking one damn word on the page after another. It's a bit like spackling at this point--I'll go back and smooth everything over once I'm done.
