Spend all day yesterday running queries and building data models, while simultaneously obsessively watching the internet news sites. When I got home, I did not turn on the news but instead tuned into the premiere of Fox's new show Prison Break.

If you're on my friends list you've probably already seen this through mutual friends, but it bears repeating.

When the Levee Breaks meme

I challenge everyone reading this - if they haven't already - to donate at least $25 (more is good!) to the Red Cross to help in their disaster relief effort.

Here's the link to make a credit card contribution: https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation-form.asp

Then, cut and paste this in your journal and pass it on.

If the Red Cross isn't your cup of tea, visit MSNBC's How To Help for a list of other organizations collecting contributions to help in the relief.

If you can't donate money, think about donating blood. Or call up your local Red Cross and offer a few hours of your time. They need folks to answer phones, open envelopes with mail-in donations and backfill for the folks in your communities who will be heading down south to help out onsite.
