pbray: (Chill)
Tick, tock, the summer is rushing to a close. Warm here again today, but it's not going to last. Braved the shopping mall where the fall clothes were on sale. I understand a sale for back to school clothes in August, but when it is 90 degrees out, I have a hard time getting psyched to buy wool or quilted jackets. I was there shopping for my new niece, and even here I ran into difficulties. The baby clothes on the racks were long-sleeve fleece and multi-layered garments, ready for the chill of autumn and winter, while I'm trying to shop for Florida. Still a little perseverance found the summer sales racks, and I was able to suitably spoil her.

Writing: 1,084 words today. Good words, if not as many as I'd have liked. Starting a novel is a lot like trying to push start a car. It takes a while to get any momentum going.

Reading: Finished Cast in Shadow and started Tanith Lee's Metallic Love. Going to be interesting to see how this holds up against the teenage classic The Silver Metal Lover

Watching: Picked up the Constantine DVD for tonight. Kick back, a little wine, a little chocolate....
