Is it time for eye candy yet?
Aug. 20th, 2005 06:42 pmTick, tock, the summer is rushing to a close. Warm here again today, but it's not going to last. Braved the shopping mall where the fall clothes were on sale. I understand a sale for back to school clothes in August, but when it is 90 degrees out, I have a hard time getting psyched to buy wool or quilted jackets. I was there shopping for my new niece, and even here I ran into difficulties. The baby clothes on the racks were long-sleeve fleece and multi-layered garments, ready for the chill of autumn and winter, while I'm trying to shop for Florida. Still a little perseverance found the summer sales racks, and I was able to suitably spoil her.
Writing: 1,084 words today. Good words, if not as many as I'd have liked. Starting a novel is a lot like trying to push start a car. It takes a while to get any momentum going.
Reading: Finished Cast in Shadow and started Tanith Lee's Metallic Love. Going to be interesting to see how this holds up against the teenage classic The Silver Metal Lover
Watching: Picked up the Constantine DVD for tonight. Kick back, a little wine, a little chocolate....

Date: 2005-08-20 11:00 pm (UTC)I will be one the lookout for the Batman:The Beginning DVD. Christian Bale has always been a favorite, but I think Cillian Murphy may edge him out. My word, those eyes...
I agree about fall clothes. I've been receiveing fall catalogs for the last month or two, and all I can say is It's Too Early!

Date: 2005-08-20 11:46 pm (UTC)i found your site when i was looking for things with the name Bray. My name is Pamela Bray and i love to read fantasy novels. i work with our local Con, the MidSouthCon and i was wondering if you made appearances at Cons and if so what are your prices. We always have fun and in 2007 we have Terry Prachett as author GOH. If you'd like, please contact me at braypn@yahoo.com and we can discuss the Con and other things.

Re: hello do you do Cons?
Date: 2005-08-21 01:13 pm (UTC)I've sent you an email, so you can fill me in on MidSouthCon. I try to get to a few cons a year, mostly ones within driving distance that I can work in to my schedule. This year is a little light on SF cons because family obligations took precedence-- two out of state weddings and a new niece in Florida.
