Writing: 1,055 words today.
Writing room: Extensive excavations have revealed the floor of the writing room, and it is now possible to walk in a straight line from the door to the computer desk.
Day job: Had to work today for a bit, and spent several hours tonight periodically checking for the urgent e-mail that was supposed to arrive. I was on call for immediate action to recaculate and verify the forecast--but coworker never delivered new numbers and so it was a waste of my time. Now instead I have to set my alarm for OhMyGodItsEarly just in case the email comes in after I've signed off for the night.
Dissed: By one cat. I was the designated spare human for

You can tell it was a cold weekend--normally she'll follow me around, inspect her food, and sit on my lap while I watch CNN. Instead this weekend she could barely be bothered to lift her head while I scratched her ears.
