Well for those people who wanted to know what the great lizard invasion looked like, behind the cut below you'll find photos taken by [livejournal.com profile] jennifer_dunne. This is a sampling of the 80+ lizards that invaded my house while I was at WFC.

Close-up of lizard on the refrigerator

[livejournal.com profile] jennifer_dunne swears she only put one lizard in the microwave, but when I opened the door I found two taking a spin.

Lizard climbing the koala sculpture--they stick really well to almost anything

The lizards like the bike

Close-up of one of the biking lizards

Only the tail can be seen

Dialing for reinforcements

Lizards like sci-fi (there's more than one to be seen)

Lizards at the sink--a recreation since they were moved due to the creepiness factor.

Finally, a lizard laying claim to my broadsword. A particularly aggressive move, since the sword is a memento of my first fantasy trilogy, while lizards are the symbol of the new series.

After living with them for a few days I've grown quite fond of the lizards. It's kind of fun to move aside a book, or pick up something in the kitchen and find a previously undiscovered lizard peering back. Plus the 10 lizards arranged around my writing area are down right inspirational.

Sadly, though, they'll have to be picked up, to make it easier to clean. But I'll keep my favorites as a reminder.

And I spared you the pictures of the lizards encircling the bed. Which were initially creepy but now I think of them as guardian spirits.

By the way, I picked up Winter Moon at WFC just so I could read BANSHEE CRIES. It was excellent, and I'm looking forward to THUNDERBIRD FALLS next year.

It's sad that you don't have ceiling fans...that would have been such a GREAT place to hide a lizard.

Josh suggested sneaking one into your sock drawer, but I was afraid you'd find that sock-religious. (grinning, running, ducking...)

It's time to sock-rifice you at the feet of the pun gods.

Haven't we all suffered enough pun-ishment?

Sorry...can I offer you a cup of Sock-i?

Sorry *grovel* there was one more left in my evil brain box. Blame that one on manga and the current research line into Japanese and Chinese cultures.

Anyone believe me? *looks at you all with big bright eyes...*ignore the mischief you just think you see lurking back there**
