Two quick notes. First the gorgeous cover art you saw in the earlier post was done by Steve Stone, a British artist that Bantam has just started working with.

Secondly, the revisions are progressing. I have now reached the stage where I am convinced that each change I make results in the book sucking even more than it did before. I believe this is known as hitting bottom, and hopefully I'll soon begin to climb out of this pit and emerge with a completed and coherent novel.

Mmm. Chocolate is always a fine answer.

As the wise man says, this too shall pass. Soon I will once more be convinced of my brilliance. Or at least that the manuscript doesn't actually suck canal water :-)

I thought so. He's the same artist that did my cover. He must be doing pretty good. I was suspicious when I saw the water and grass because it looked like layered computer graphics . . . and so it was. Congrats! I think he's an exceptional artist.

Okay, now this is just too weird.

Our next competition-- seeing which one of our covers he adds to his portfolio on the web :-)

It's because you all-wise and all-knowing critique partner was out of town and unable to advise you... I'm *sure* that was the reason. :-)
