All wet

It struck me this morning that what I really need is a waterproof laptop I can mount to the wall of my shower. I'm tired of thinking up great lines of dialogue or character insights, then racing from the shower and trying not to drip too much as I scribble the idea down.

Everyone knows to keep a pad of paper by the bed and to carry a notebook at all times for when inspiration strikes. But they forgot to tell me about the shower.

Maybe it's time to order one of these.

I remember that Nalgene, the plastic lab container people, used to make a pocket notebook with a plastic cover and waterproof pages. The pages were paper, coated with the waterproofing substance, and could be written on with pencil even when wet.

I used to have one. Check an online lab supply store.

I would never EVER leave the shower! This is a BAD thing.

I need!

And in an odd coincidence [livejournal.com profile] suricattus just posted in her LJ that her new shower has a write-on board for those moments when the muse strikes.

My kids have bathtub crayons to draw on the walls of the shower. You could use those, and not only write down ideas but draw a picture, too!

Assuming I could draw :-) I never progressed beyond the stick figure phase myself.

You should have seen my first attempt at drawing a map for DEVLIN'S LUCK. A friend looked at it and declared "It's a rhinocerous wearing a hat."
