Writing: 2,044 words today. One of those great scenes that does exactly what you need it to do. We gain key insights into a pivotal character, it moves the plot forward, ratchets up the stakes for our central characters, and throws in a few more brush strokes outlining the mysterious events of six years past. At the end of this scene the reader will know exactly what's going on... and they'll be wrong.
Cue evil laughter.
Spent time this evening watching Braves baseball, and in particular admiring Julio Franco, the oldest active position player in baseball. He hits, he runs, and he fields well, all at an age when most players have long since retired. And by comparison he makes me feel young.
