At the brewpub today, the serving staff engaged in a fierce debate among themselves which then spilled over to the bar, as they polled the handful of patrons having lunch. The controversy of the day?

The correct use of the serial comma. Or, as one patron put it, "Yeah, the Oxford comma, it will screw with you every time."

I love my local.

Geeks and beer, a classic combination. It's no surprise that the Leverage gang has chosen a brewpub for their latest HQ.

I kept my head down and let the English majors battle it out :-)

Totally wish I was there. Well, except for the beer.

It's the fun part of drinking in a university town, you never know who your fellow barflies will be.

It's classic college town New England-- you never know if the guy sitting next to you at the bar wearing jeans and a t-shirt is in construction, farming, or the English department.

It was a riot-- my jaw dropped when the first barfly to chime in correctly identified this as an Oxford comma.

Did you know I've been offered a small press contract to edit an anthology "How Beer Saved the World"? Message me if you are interested.
