Others far more eloquent than I have posted about Amazon's latest insanity, but it's worth keeping in mind that it's the MacMillan authors who are bearing the brunt of this. Particularly someone like David B. Coe, who has a new book out today--THE HORSEMEN'S GAMBIT is now available in mass-market paperback.
It's a Tor release which means it falls under the MacMillan umbrella, and as of moments ago, Amazon had still not restored the links allowing customers to buy it from Amazon, or to preorder his next title. You can check out David's blog for his take on the situation.
Sales in the first weeks of a book's release are crucial, so it's a good time to head to a bricks & mortar store and pick up David's new book, and any other new Tor releases they have. Or if you prefer to shop from the laptop I can recommend Mysterious Galaxy, or if you need the larger selection of a non-genre bookstore, BN.COM has always worked well for me.
In fact I'm off to e-shop now.
