Indeed, relocating to the Cybercafe resulted in 1,250 words in just over an hour.

And yes, it was a fairly angsty scene, which concluded with the phrase and she knew that he had betrayed her.

Really, angst seems to be the appropriate genre for writing in the Cybercafe. I was trying my best to blend in--

Wearing black? Check.
Thrift store fashion sense? Well I did purchase these clothes new, but they're old enough to qualify for fashion store donations, so I give myself partial credit.
Sipping exotic beverage while typing? I started with a pint of Arrogant Bastard and then moved on to plain coffee. But for all my compatriots in the Sunshine room know it might have been a frou-frou latte concoction, so my disguise is intact.
Eyes intent on keyboard, ignoring all distractions? Check.
Writing angst, bad poetry, and/or diatribes on my blog? Check and check!

A change of scenery is sometimes all you need to get more words to flow.

It's cliched, but it works.

No :-(

I also left my iPod home, but next time I'll remember to bring it to complete my disguise.

I miss the Cybercafe--and their giant cookies.

Sometimes a change of setting is just what I need to shake loose my creativity, whether it's to the coffee house, library or a writer's retreat.

Especially in this case, when I promised myself dessert if I actually produced pages :-)

consider though that even most of the regular coffee is fair trade or organic or has some other designator or definite article attached, so you might still be safe on that count.

the important question remains-
giant cookie with chocolate chips or m&m's?

choco-chips, of course! Mmm, choco-chips.

Couldn't finish it, of course, so brought half of it home and had it as a snack later.

I like their sandwiches and wraps, but almost never get sweets there. Yesterday was an exception, since I'd been a good writerbeast.

For my research class, I was required to basically people watch for an hour. I did my stint at the Cyber. It was...intriguing.

They do attract an interesting mix of clientele. It's one of my favorite places to hang out on a winter weekend.
