Report from the trenches of democracry
Nov. 4th, 2008 08:52 amPolling places opened at 6AM. I signed in at 8:15 AM and was voter #93 on that machine. There were three people ahead of me, and it took less than ten minutes for me to sign in, wait for my turn at the machine, vote and then leave.
When I left there were 3 or 4 people behind me, waiting their turn, and the other two machines had similar lines. Mostly older voters, which is in keeping with the makeup of the neighborhood.

Date: 2008-11-04 02:58 pm (UTC)I like the idea of early voting, which allows recovery time in case of screwups. Be interesting to see if more states switch over to early voting by the time 2012 rolls around.

Date: 2008-11-04 09:54 pm (UTC)Also in the Finger Lakes, I voted around 6:45am, and had to wait for four people ahead of me. I was Voter #27, and, I think, the only Democrat in the lot. Precinct 2, which must be smaller, only had about four people vote the whole time I was in there.
