Yesteday I'd arranged to meet [livejournal.com profile] fireun at the mall, so we could go for drinks after work. As I was walking in from the parking lot, I saw [livejournal.com profile] fireun and [livejournal.com profile] djkc driving away. Waving to me as they giggled. I stopped in the middle of the lane, head hung down, a picture of dejection, wailing "Oh noes!"

A kind woman stopped and asked "Did you miss your ride?" in a tone of voice well-suited for dealing with a distraught child.

"Err, um, no. They're parking," I replied.

Turns out that [livejournal.com profile] fireun had scooted home so she could pick up the souvenir she brought me from her trip out west--an awesome beer glass that proclaims the virtues of interspecies love:

Safely reunited with my friends, I called [livejournal.com profile] jpsorrow's cell phone and left him a message stating our intent to proceed into Ruby Tuesday's, begin devouring brains, and asked that he bring bail money. Surprisingly he showed up not too much later. And he'd brought freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, yum.

With friends like these, how can you go wrong?

*LAUGHS* That is an awesome story.

And speaking of Awesome Stories, I finished THE FINAL SACRIFICE a few days ago and was extremely pleased with it. :) Very good ending. Yay!

there was a distinct lack of zombie-like action though. i was saddened. not even [livejournal.com profile] djkc gnawing on my head could soothe me.

i was impressed at the sheer number of fruity drinks our dear server (she deserves some sort of sainthood) brought to the table. it was fascinating. an endless parade of froofy indulgence.

i love the fact someone stopped to make sure you were ok. adds a bit to my faith in humanity gauge, and also provides an entertaining story to tell friends and family for years to come.

we must needs to this on some manner of regular schedule.

LOL! XD

It's nice when people are concerned, though. That's one of the better things about living in a place that's, erm, less inhibited than Toronto :P

Yes we must. We're thinking maybe this Friday would be a good night to descend en masse on the new game store?

It was very nice of her to be concerned, though at the time I was a tad mortified that my dramatic wailing and gnashing of teeth had attracted attention of a kindly stranger.
