Cursed! Foiled again

Facing another day of ninety degree weather, I decided to bring my laptop to the Cybercafe so that I could have lunch and then spend the afternoon writing in air conditioned comfort. However shortly after I'd arrived, it became obvious that they were operating on essential power only, due to a transformer problem. The beer was cold, the food hot, and the air conditioning non-existent. So I had lunch, made a few story notes, and then returned home and watched the thunderstorms roll through with much drama but no relief from this heat.

At least tomorrow it's back to the day job, where air conditioning tops the list of reasons why I prefer to go into the office rather than working at home.

I also had high hopes of getting writing done today, since I knew that for the first time in weeks, there would be no workfolk around doing things to the house. But the heat defeated me. Even though my computer sits between two open windows and there *should* be a good cross-breeze, it's so hot over here that I'm sweating just after typing this.

I tried to write yesterday evening but it was just too darn hot to think. At this time of year I need to write first thing in the morning, or I'm toast.

Unfortunately, Day Job starts at 7:30, so I have to leave the house by 7:00. Can't write at work, on account it's Not That Kind of Job.
Sigh....
