OMG, I'm writing a fragment of an original poem to put in my fantasy novel. Can I be any more cliched?

P.S. I'm crap at poetry. This is going to suck even more than my prose.

This poetry is supposed to be good--but I'm cheating since the part I'm including is described as a translation of the original, and thus any suckiness can be put down to a poor translation.
