Who's that knocking on my wall?

Nothing like being ready to jump into the shower only to hear banging against the outside of your house--coming from right above your head.

Turned out the phone company was working on the utility pole across the street and decided that they needed to check my phone wires. Which meant leaning a ladder up against the house without first checking to see if anyone was home.

Threw on clothes, went out to investigate. Was able to inform the workers that yes, they'd startled me. Pulse rate dropped about the same time DSL service came back up.
