Making net progress
Aug. 6th, 2011 06:24 pmDrove the final load of books up to the donation center-- approximately 750. At this point the basement is now empty and all that remains are keepers (shelved upstairs) and books on the TBR shelves in the living room. On the way home I stopped at Barnes & Noble and picked up two new releases-- still it's a net improvement for the day, so I'll count that as a win.
Been a crazy week but it ended on a good note as I had friends over last night to play games. Josh brought freshly made brownies (yum!) and my inability to grasp spatial relationships was on hilarious display. Due to my repeated failure to fashion functioning spaceships, I was voted Galaxy Trucker most likely to be destroyed, though April won the honor of being most likely to have her crew mutiny due to her habit of selling off surplus crewmembers....
Felt the germ of a new story starting today. It's a tiny seed at the moment. I don't want to think about it too hard, but rather let it grow quietly in the dark corners of my mind, until I can coax it out into the open. It's an odd thing, but you can indeed feel that moment when a story starts to grow. Can't tell yet what kind of story it will be, but it's good to feel my muse returning.
