My inner child is never far away
Jun. 19th, 2011 10:12 pmThe weekend included two nice bike rides--yesterday did my normal airport ride and today I rode out and back to Owego. I made really good time to Hickories Park but then was delayed trying to explain "Bridge washed out during spring floods, park closed, whatever was supposed to be happening here this weekend isn't" to a German tourist clutching a brochure advertising summer events. He kept asking for an alternate route, not quite getting the fact that there was only one way in and out of the park. Sorry mein freund but this is America and backup plans are for wimps.
Then later I saw The Green Lantern with Josh. The movie was forgettable, but when the preview for the new Transformers movie appeared I bounced in my seat like a small child. "Robots! Robots! Oooh, it's OPTIMUS PRIME!" I exclaimed. "He's so pretty! Oooh, look at that! And that! He's so COOOOOOOL!" Followed by a chant of "Robots! Robots!" with a glee normally only seen in those of preschool age.
Yes. My inner child remains a huge robot fan. You could probably entertain me for an entire day by showing that preview on a continuous loop.
