These things come in pairs
Nov. 24th, 2010 11:33 amEarlier this year, the left garage door spring failed in spectacular fashion, leaving me unable to open the garage door with my car trapped inside. Joshua was a hero of the revolution--he came over, lifted the door up and I was able to back out. When the repairman came over, he looked at the remaining spring and said it should be fine.
Well, no, it wasn't. It failed last night, a fact I discovered when I tried to leave the house to run errands this morning. One frantic phone call later, Joshua came over, and with very little mocking he repeated his service, and held the door up while I backed out. Car (and Patricia) are once again free range.
I owe him. Big time. Though the part where he screamed "AIIEEEE! You ran over my toes!" and then burst into laughter, was, perhaps, not the highlight of my day.
