Splat! It's Monday
Jul. 26th, 2010 08:26 amAh yes, the glories of another Monday, following a weekend of reading, writing (a little), web surfing and TV watching, as I continue my home confinement.
One of the downsides of spending so much time at home is that I get a good look at all the things I meant to do this summer--cleaning out closets, culling book collection, rearranging the writing room, all things that require standing, walking or the ability to lift boxes and/or move furniture. Needless to say, none of this is getting done, which is adding to my general frustration. Not to say I would have accomplished these things if I hadn't screwed up my ankle, but in that case I'd have been out of the house enjoying the summer rather than trapped here staring at the chaos.
Today there will be a brief change of scenery as I head to the dentist for a cleaning--a trip that feels like an illicit adventure. It's my one outing between now and the next check-in with the doctor. I'm hoping my continued good behavior will win points with the parole board when I see him.
In the meantime, the TBR stack is steadily shrinking, which is the only good thing to come out of this mess.
