I earned this beer
Jun. 27th, 2010 01:22 pmYesterday I biked 15 miles. Today I managed 30. I had been planning a shorter ride to avoid the mess of the BC Open but when I got on the bike this morning I decided "Screw it, I'm going to do my favorite thirty mile route, and if the traffic is bad I'll just deal with it."
The Open traffic was only slightly annoying and it turned out to be a great ride. Fifteen miles out to Hickories Park, a quick stop for water and a snack bar, and fifteen miles home, with a few steep hills tossed in the mix to keep me honest. I'm not particularly fast but I get the job done.
Then it was off to the Cybercafe for lunch (including trying a new IPA) and a little research for the WIP. I'm researching a real place, then changing the name and moving it one county over, so I can fudge the details that I need to make my story work. If only my powers to rearrange reality extended beyond the borders of my stories....
On second thought, maybe not. There's no telling what I'd think was a good idea, and I'm sure many of you are attached to the reality that we already have. But if, perchance, you find yourself startled to discover that robot armies have taken over city hall, or that your TV channel lineup now includes a Sci-Fi pretty boys channel featuring all our favorites, feel free to send thanks my way.
