Work week beckons
Aug. 17th, 2009 12:09 amYesterday I decided to indulge myself. Funny how indulging myself turned into a fairly typical Saturday-- morning bike ride followed by lunch at the Lost Dog, then an afternoon spent writing in Barnes & Noble's cafe, taking advantage of their airconditioning.
Today was even hotter. Managed a ride out to Owego and back, shaving fifteen minutes off my usual time. Grabbed lunch, ran errands, then went to another hangout with A/C and banged out 750 words before heading back home to tackle laundry.
After a cooler than average summer this hot spell is uncomfortable, but somehow knowing that it's nearly time for the annual furnace maintenance takes the edge off, reminding me that it can't last forever.
And now that the house has cooled down to a temperate 79 degrees, it's time for bed.
